Dear Valued FirstBank Southwest Customer,

Don’t be denied.

At FirstBank Southwest, we offer automatic overdraft services in many cases.  However, beginning August 15, 2010, the law will change. Unless you give us permission ahead of time, we will not be allowed to automatically cover your ATM or everyday debit card transactions, in case you accidentally overdraw your account.

We don’t want your card to be declined at the gas pump, grocery store, or while eating out with friends. Prepare yourself by giving us permission to instantly apply overdraft services to your ATM or debit card.

The form to the right details our standard overdraft practices. We are asking you to sign this form and return it to us quickly, so you can continue to enjoy the same coverage you’ve had all along.

Again, we want to prevent any embarrassing and possibly immobilizing situation. Whether you need it or not, it’s nice to know you’ve got coverage automatically, just in case.

Mail your signed form TODAY or visit us in person.  Call 1.800.944.9561 or send an email to customersupport@fbsw.com for help.

Sincerely,

President, CEO

All funds in a “noninterest-bearing transaction account” are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012.  This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.

The term “noninterest-bearing transaction account” includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest.  It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit account that may earn interest, NOW accounts, money-market deposit accounts, and Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (“IOLTAs”).

For more information about temporary FDIC coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
